Cornwall to tackle traffic emissions at Grampound: Work is to begin on an action plan to improve air quality in Grampound, a village in Western Cornwall, following the declaration of the village as an AQMA.
This is a tricky problem to solve (other than diverting all the traffic or going all-electric cars). The steep hill and narrow road through the conservation area in the village is fed by fast roads either side that have bypassed neighbouring villages.
Clearly the community would be strongly opposed to widening the road and speeding up the traffic. The exact opposite would be more desirable.
